Postal Exam 473-E Part B (Forms Completion): Tips for Success
Part B of the postal test 473-e is called Forms Completion. This portion of the 473 seeks to test your ability to identify the information needed to complete forms which you will regularly encounter in your job as a postal worker. In this test, you will be presented with forms that are actually used by the United States Postal Service. Certain boxes or blanks within a form is labeled with a number or a number and letter combination (e.g. 5, 5b) and you will be asked to answer multiple-choice type questions about the form given and how it should be completed.
The good thing about Part B is that it is not a right minus wrong test. That means that there is no penalty for guessing, unlike Parts A and C of the 473-e. Thus, you will be better off if you answer all the items even if you have to guess them. Since there are four choices, you have a 25 percent chance of getting a right answer. You can increase your odds to 50 percent by eliminating obviously wrong answers and making what is known as an “educated guess.â€
To help you succeed in Part B, here are some more guidelines to follow:
You might also increase your chances of getting a high score in this test if you take the time to go to your local post office and get a copy of postal forms. Be sure to ask the Postmaster or any postal worker kindly. Study them so you will increase your confidence level and get a high score in this part of the postal exam 473-e.
